tiny cardigan

A teeny tiny sweater. Are babies really this small when they are born?
How soon we forget.

This sweater is called the Baby Sophisticate.
How sweet. They are born and arrive already reading Shakespeare or completing their dissertation. I joke. Isn't this sweater just adorable and like the name- sophisticated...

In anticipation of some babies being born this year I made this so I have a gift ready to go. I do love those big buttons.

The yarn I had on hand and is Louisa Harding Kashmir Aran which I got on super sale almost a year ago. It's a great pattern and it's free

Your sweater looks beautiful, Nancy! I've had great luck with this pattern, and even sized it up for my nearly-three-year-old, but I haven't made the teeny-tiny version yet. Maybe I should try it again!

Hello again,
Thanks for stopping by my little space:)
For my older daughter's version of the Baby Sophisticate, I knit on larger-than-called for needles, and added some stitches through the body portion. It's on my Ravelry page, I'm "VineyardLady" there.
In the end it wasn't as big as I'd hoped it would be - I should have made it longer - but it served well for this winter just past.

oh my goodness! yes, i think we do forget how itty bitty they are, especially when our babies grow so quickly in our arms. and maybe this is when we begin wishing for another?
