wall hangings

I never got around to showing the wall hangings I have been making.

There were three that sold last month. You can see a few of them on instagram if you follow: shopmada

Here are three more in progress and I will be making several more. I will let you know when they become available.

I have so much more to say and write however, the school bell is ringing soon so off to pick up the kids and onto play practice, violin and fixing dinner.

Pipilotti Rist exhibit

Words can not even express the magnitude of this amazing exhibit. It was worth driving in the snow to see last Saturday without a doubt. This will stay with all of us for a long time.

black and white winter cowl

My new fashion accessory. A cozy handspan cowl knit with Camellia Fiber Co. yarn.

This is a Victorian style arrangement made of herbs and flowers. According to the language of flowers here are the meanings:

Dill- protection against evil. Mint- virtue. Parsley-festivity. Rosemary- Remembrance. Yellow Rose-joy, friendship, the promise of a new beginning. Coral Rose-friendship, modesty, sympathy. Ranunculus- dazzled by your charms. Sea Holly- admiration.

There is a green I could not identify and dianthus which I originally forgot which in this shade signifies 'a mother's undying love.'

when at purl soho

When at Purl Soho your daughter picks up the perfect yarn for a hat. This girl's got good taste! Super soft merino in color: Lucky Magpie!

Dia: Beacon

On New Year's Eve we took a spur of the moment trip to Dia in Beacon. We had an amazing time! I place a lot of importance on museum/art trips. It is something I place a lot of value on and want to share with my kids. We also went to the Museum of the American Indian over Thanksgiving weekend and they loved it.

bow barrettes

Love, love these big hand knit bow barrettes! These are all in my Etsy shop. A few more to list and continuing to make more because they are addictive.

Nani Iro pillows

5 Pillows sewn with Nani IRO. I have decided to keep one so far myself, the middle one. All the others are for sale but, I haven't listed yet. Green: Elegant Wind (gauze), Blue: Five Senses (canvas), Yellow- Mountain View (cotton linen canvas) Middle- vitality (gauze), Striped: Freeway Mezame (gauze).

stars and clouds

Hi! Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a nice holiday season and start to 2017.

I'm going to play my usual catch up with some show and tell.

First up, is this Liberty of London dress in a stars and clouds print called, Hiding.
I made this for Scarlet because really I haven't been sewing for her and I have whole lot of great ideas and things I want to make her. I knew this print would be a winner for the upcoming Summer.
