spritely

I wanted to knit something beautiful that would take some time and that I could work on slowly. I like to spark her imagination and create these heirloom pieces. This pattern is gorgeous and it was on my 'to do' list for a while. She absolutely loves it.

summer bloomers

I also added these bloomers last week. Why I like making bloomers: I put them on my baby girl (when she was a baby) all the time. She wore them under dresses, skirts or alone and were easily one of the most useful items in her wardrobe.

wildflower meadow

This Spring I planted a wildflower meadow on the front slope of my house that had previously been a strawberry patch. I still have strawberries on the other side. I bought a Northeast Wildflower Mix and lately it's been bursting with flowers and I'm so pleased with it. So far the blooms have included cornflower, baby's breath, red poppy, wild cosmos and plains coreopsis. Everything in the mix is listed here with annuals and perennials.

Happy 4th of July!

double gauze dress

A pretty gathered dress sewn with french seams and tied with a wide satin bow on one shoulder. I used this beautiful fabric and the gorgeous palette it comes in is so soft. I'm debating whether to keep it or put it in the shop. I made it in a size 7-8.
