Well,  I didn't expect to be gone for a month! I have been letting things slide due to many reasons but, I will try to make that up to you. This girl of mine is in 3rd grade now and her brother in 5th and he has braces! This was a very slow knit I worked on a bit at a time over the summer. I managed to make it in time for the end of summer and she will be able to get a few years out of it thank goodness.

Really sweet dress that I enjoyed and I love how it turned out. I made it drop waisted rather then sitting at the natural waist. The pattern is called: By The Seashore.

Cosmic blue kids hat in the shop!

This yarn is ultramarine blue and white mohair spun with mini pops of silver and turquoise fibers. Hot pink and dark blue sequins, silver tinsel trims, dip dyed flowers and tiny yellow daisies are all part of this yarn.

two tone knit dress

I love this dress and all the pleats make it so swirly. It's a mini but will pair super sweet with cropped leggings. It wasn't my favorite yarn to knit with a slubby cotton merino blend but I think the result was worth it and I'm glad I didn't quit it.

This was a nice pleasing summer shoulder bag to knit in the heat outside. A long stockinette rectangle folded and seamed.

New Sunsuit in the shop!

*Dress baby up with this beautiful and vintage style organic wool / cotton romper/playsuit. Gender neutral heirloom piece that works through all seasons. 

The romper is size 12 months and I used 0-wool Balance.

I made my nephew, Cal a bobble vest! The pattern is by Misha and Puff from the Winter Light Collections which also includes a matching popcorn bonnet and bloomers. i may have to make the others in the Fall.

A cute blue bonnet was knit and put into the shop not too long ago. It will fit ages 1-3 and is made with alpaca.

striped hoodie - hat and gloves

Pure fun and whimsical. You need to wear this with the attitude to match because this is not for the timid. I wanted a really big pom pom.

candy cowl

Happy New Year!

I'm going to attempt to catch up little by little.

I've been doing a lot of knitting and when I feel energetic I organize the sewing room to prepare for the sewing I will get back to. The sewing room was gift station central and has become so chaotic from the events the past few months but, slowly it's getting back on the right track. Anyway, why feel guilty it's winter and wool....yeah, that feels right.

I'm having a little moment with Knit Collage.

So, here is a cowl I made using Gypsy Garden in Stardust Garland and Rowan Kidsilk haze. interesting combination. One is light and feathery lace weight, the other bulky weight with bits of glitter ribbons and roses and trims. Then you twist it and seam it together.

New hand knits available in the shop. Here's my latest favorite!

mini gale sweater/poncho

You may notice this looks just like that image over on my pinterest page.
That would be right. I liked it enough to knit is as soon as I could and in the same color.
It's knit with Cascade Yarn Eco + in  color Straw. 100% Peruvian Highland Wool.
I like the little details with this one. The way it drapes over the shoulders and that the armholes are created with a sewn on button (she chose vintage wood square ones from my stash), the rolled neck and the little garter ridges on one side. The pattern is called Mini Gale and is designed by Alicia Plummer.

I'm adding this new playsuit to the shop today. Size 0-6 months knit in Quince and Co. Lark.
I love this classic neutral heirloom piece.

artichaut

It's a really pretty pattern and is interesting to knit. It's made in pieces and seamed. There is a version to knit it without seaming but, I don't mind it on this project. The yarn was so incredibly soft and I had just enough to knit this project. The yarn is a cashmere/silk blend from Tess Designer Yarns purchased at the Sheep and Wool Festival which is coming up in a week- hooray!

Knit  a neon pink wool/mohair bow scarf last weekend.

willard fair isle pullover

I finished my Willard sweater over a week ago and I guess I have to be honest, I don't love it.
I think I knew I wasn't going to which is why I stopped knitting it months ago but, I didn't want to let it sit unfinished anymore.

I knew I hadn't done an excellent job with the tension in the fair isle part and wish now I had redone it. I thought it would loosen a bit more in the blocking process. I don't have much experience with fair isle and there is some puckering. I have another fair isle project in my queue and I think I learned a good lesson with this sweater which I hope means I will do better next time.

The yarn was good though which is Quince and Co. and the pattern itself is simple.

I wanted to knit something beautiful that would take some time and that I could work on slowly. I like to spark her imagination and create these heirloom pieces. This pattern is gorgeous and it was on my 'to do' list for a while. She absolutely loves it.

knitted boot socks #2

I made a second pair of boot socks from the pattern in Made by Hand. The feel of this yarn is more rustic then the red pair and it has tiny flecks and slight color shifts in it.

A few flowers have begun sprouting in the garden. These two were the first ones.
