rainbow skirt

March seems the perfect time to make something like this.

I came up with a simple formula on how to make my own version of a rainbow skirt. It is comprised of lots of rectangles. I used muslin and voile and even though the weights of the fabric are a bit different it worked out nicely. It was a lot of fun to sew and the result is most definitely worth it...she loves it! A little bit trimmed off of the fabric and a ribbon wand came into place. Now what are the magic words to make Spring arrive?

S is so proud of her skirt and really enjoyed taking these photos. She lost her first tooth a few weeks ago. This girl is really growing up.
