I have been knitting a lot of these sparkly hats. Here are a handful of ones I have made!

bunny *handknit for her birthday *

Scarlet requested I knit a white bunny from Last Minute Knitted Gifts for her birthday. Ha! Though I did finish it at the last minute ( the night before) I worked on it for about a week. So, my knitting (and crafting) time is more limited these days so things don't get done as fast as they used to. The pattern was easy enough to follow and I like the mohair/silk I used on the inside of the ear. Gives it that little je ne sais quoi!

aster hat

This hat is so beautiful and I am so pleased with the fit and design.
I knit in Madelinetosh Vintage in color: Celadon.
I'm tempted to knit another one in a snowy white.

grey wool beret

I must admit I'm tempted to keep it though she has one in red so.... for now I'm trying to part with it.

She's grown into this cardigan (Wee Cria by Ysolda Teague) that was originally too big when I knit it in 2014 and I'm just loving it. A beautifully designed knit pattern perfect in Madelinetosh.

70 yard mitts

70 yard mitts in colors gingerbread and honey. The honey shade matches some leg warmers I made here

Autumn seems to have fully showed itself with the leaves now turning and swirling around in the air. The sheep and wool festival is in Rhinebeck this weekend and I plan to head there tomorrow morning. I will be sure to share photos like I do every year. Happy weekend to you.

bubble stitch bonnet

I just finished up this beautiful bonnet in a really cool stitch pattern called the bubble stitch.
I used Quince and Co. chickadee yarn in the color, Spruce. She's holding a few skeins of yarn that will one day become a paper dolls sweater for me.

catching butterflies

This pattern, yes! It's good. The knitting is pure pleasure, not too boring, doesn't take forever! The mitts are lovely and my daughter is trying to steal them from me which means they will need to be knit again. That makes a accessory pattern great in my mind, when you want to knit it more then once.

A new item that I listed in my etsy this week:

knit bobble bloomers

I made up these knit shorts/bloomers in a size 5/6. Not sure who they are being given to but, I was sick a few weeks ago and needed a tiny project. Love the little bobbles and the i cord tie. The pattern is from Paelas and I knit them in MadelineTosh vintage yarn.

liesl kerchief

Love this pattern! It's a kerchief and can be worn two ways, on the head or around your neck. It was a really nice knit that had the right amount of intrigue but didn't take forever.
I used leftover sock yarn and right at the end had to finish with a slightly different red sock yarn. It all worked out.

like the night sky

I finished knitting this poncho over the weekend that I started in March. It is one long stockinette stitch rectangle which is then sewn so it can be worn over the head. It drapes beautifully. I must say it was very tedious to knit. In the end though this is beautiful and elegant when finished and worn. It would look nice paired with slim pants or a pencil skirt. I bought 5 skeins of this inky blue color but, only used four and the tiny flecks remind me of the starry sky. I've always loved that time of day on a summers night when it switches to this color briefly before complete darkness.

liberty and lace sundress

This sundress! Oh, I just love it...
I had forgotten how much I adored the one I made for my girl four years ago and when it popped in my head I immediately dropped what I was doing last week to start another.

The combination of knitted lace in soft white wool with the Liberty of London cotton lawn is just exquisite. I made this red floral one a size 12 months and listed in my Etsy shop. The hem is hand sewn and the lace is knitted then sewn on by machine and then hand sewn to the fabric on top to lay flat. I made a little different then the original one where the knit portion was inside.

One of many projects in progress. A wool poncho for me. A little slow as the stockinette is a bit boring but, I think the end result will be worth it. Love the color and drape of this wool. A deep midnight navy with tiny flecks in it like the night sky.

robin's egg blue romper

I made my fourth vintage style romper/playsuit because they are so sweet and very cute on a baby. Almost makes me want another one. It can be worn in the summer or winter as an outer layer. I knit this in Madeline Tosh- Tosh Vintage in Robin's Egg which I had some extra yarn from this project. I've just listed it in my etsy store. I think it would look sweet on either gender and make a really pretty gift for a new baby.

bloomsbury kids

This absolutely gorgeous knit design stole my heart! I received a gift card to a yarn shop over the holidays and I wanted to move this project to the top of the list and spend it on yarn for this sweater. The pattern is Bloomsbury Kids and I chose this very happy coral pink shade. The lace panels along the yoke and into the sleeve also are incorporated into a panel in the center back. I used Csscade 220 in the the color, Shrimp and knit a size 6. This was a present for her 7th birthday.

When we takes these photos we have a lot of fun and here is a sample of some outtakes. Here we have 'the sad', 'the scared' and 'the puppy'

sommar in blue

I was in the mood to knit myself a sweater and determined to use something in my stash. This sweater, Sommar, was the perfect choice. A quick knit in beautiful yarn that I've managed to squeeze three projects out of so far: Ice Cream Sundae, this beret and now this spring sweater. I used two pretty ceramic Melissa Jean buttons with polka dots at the top.
I'm now onto knitting some more crowns and this sweater.

a golden crown

Fit for a fairy tale this golden crown knits up beautifully and quickly. The pattern is Circlet by Dani Sunshine and I've already got another in progress. Quite addictive to make.

organic wool romper

I wish I had a baby to model this for me because this vintage style romper/playsuit is very cute on a baby. It can be worn in the summer or winter as an outer layer. I knit it with organic merino wool and I've just listed it in my etsy store. I sold the pale pink one so quickly last month at my sale. I think I'd like to try to keep this as a regular item in my store. If you have a specific size/color in mind send me a s message. I'm willing to make it up to a size 2 for now.

knitting round up

On the last day of 2014 I am going to show you a a round up of knitting projects from the past few months that I didn't get around to as they were finished.

The first one is the Petawawa Cable Toque.
The designer is very admirable and this hat is very nicely designed. I actually started it quite a while ago and put it aside for almost a year. The yarn came with the pattern so I don't have the info. on it.

little leg warmers 2

It was time for a new pair of leg warmers as she has been dedicated to the ones I made her a few years back even wearing them to bed on occasion but, they were a little short and worn. These new ones were made with Cascade 220. They were so simple to knit. Next time maybe I'll try them with a pattern and color mixing.
