All finished and framed. Now to find the perfect place for it. This cross stitch really was a lot of fun.

alphabet sampler
I am working on the alphabet sampler by Alicia Paulson. I decided to start it the day I read about her adopting a baby girl a few weeks ago. I was so happy when I read the news on Alicia's blog. Hers was one of the first I read years ago. The kit had been sitting around for a few months now so I was happy for the excuse to start something new. I forgot how fun cross stitch is. I am up to the 'teacup' now which is next to the letter 't.'

cross stitch ornaments

I've made a lot of handmade gifts this Christmas but, I had not really done any Christmas crafts. So, I decided to do some cross stitch ornaments this week after seeing Jenny's post.
I got to stitching over the past few days and quickly found myself swept up in the x's.
I did a few deer, a house, a bunny and a little flower like Jenny's
I'd like to do a snowflake too. Maybe next year. I did a star but didn't like it very much.
I stuffed them with wool roving and cloves.
I just looked at cross stitch's online and went by sight.
Superbuzzy has some adorable patterns and Wee Wonderfuls has those cute apples, wool, butter, eggs girls that I'd like to stitch someday. There is also that alphabet sampler I never did.
I can't believe it's already the night before Christmas eve. This month sure has gone fast.
Wishing you all the happiest of holidays.

x my heart

I am learning to love the x'ing. I mean cross-stitching although it is murder on my eyes. Perhaps that's why the past few nights, I've passed out much faster than usual. Or is that, cross- stitching is like a good bed-time story. It is addictive, very slow and meditative.
I like to switch up my craft projects thinking this way I am giving the motions in my hands and shoulders a switch.
This project is part of Mailorder and it's one of the smaller projects. My heart is a wide one as I didn't realize until the end (duh) the x's are supposed to overlap (go into the same square to make the next one. Live and learn, right? Also, as you can see I went with the error starting on row 7 to the left of the middle which is where there is a line of extra squares. So, okay, it was my first one and it really is not that bad.
Next one will be perfect... Perhaps, I should get a magnifying glass as well.
