'Before and After the Party'
I mentioned previously that I am in an artist collective. It is called the Blue Scarf Collective.
Our inaugural event 'Breaking the Static' happened this past Friday in an abandoned Blockbuster in South Orange, NJ. There is a lot to say about the art collective and this show and I want to give it proper time so I will have to sit down and write about that more properly soon.
If you happen to follow me on Facebook which I just joined about a year ago you can learn more about us and follow us there but, I do promise to come back and talk more about it.
I thought it might be fun to share each piece I made that was selected for the show in it's own post.
So, today I am sharing "Before and After the Party'

Breaking the Static
Exciting things are happening! Over the summer I was asked to join a feminist art collective that is just starting up. In the first few months we are already putting together our first exhibit! I've been working away on exciting pieces some of which you have seen (the fiber arts) as well as some garden installations! I've been devoting countless hours to this over the past few months. It's very exciting! Also, I'm going to DJ on opening night- yes, you read that correctly!
for the love of nani IRO
Finished the quilt I started earlier this summer. A selection of Nani IRO prints and muslin hand quilted with embroidery thread.
